the troubadour has disguised the music
the troubadour has disguised shape
the troubadour has disguised belief
the troubadour observes
~Michelene Wandor
Dear Bob Dylan is a collection of letters which began several years ago as a way for me to express myself in a literary sense, not only to the man whom they are written for but also as a scene where I could place my thoughts. Rather than begin a journal I chose instead to write Bob Dylan letters.
The original 44 letters, the first of which was written in August of 2005 are currently being housed at a wonderful website of poetry titled A Little Poetry, where I hope they will forever remain. Had it not been for the editor there, Tracee, these letters may never have seen the light of day.
As a poet I seek inspiration in other poets, musicians, artists and everyday people. No one has made a larger impact on my life than Bob Dylan.

Dear Lisa:
Fell upon your site quite unexpectedly. I share your sentiments —
–and have done so since I was a young girl in the early 1960s …but ever moreso in the past couple of years …something is in the air, and it ain’t the fragrance of honeysuckle …

cheers
Hi Lisa, Lots of us have been inspired by Bob but I believe such adulation scares him. It`s a lovely gesture but be careful your fixation doesn t get out of hand. I believe Bob would be just as happy knowing real, ordinary people, the sort of folk he writes about rather than all the pretentiousness of those who surround him. Remember to keep it grounded as there may come the day when Bob has to give up giving.
Lovely, Lisa. I adore You and Yrs so much.
